Iranian short ‘Better than Neil Armstrong’ has been set to go on screen at the 2020 edition of the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival (PJIFF) in the US.

Written and directed by Alireza Ghasemi, the short film tells the story of four kids who start their journey to the moon with the mission of finding a mysterious place called ‘The Redland’, but the gates of The Redland are being guarded by a mischievous snake.

Qasemi’s film has grabbed the Best Cinematography and the Best Movie Soundtrack awards from the 15th Nahal Student Short Film Festival in Iran.

It has also attended some global events, including the 2019 Lund International Fantastic Film Festival in Sweden and the Izmir International Short Film Festival in Turkey.

The Poppy Jasper International Film Festival is an annual event created by volunteers as part of a non-profit organization. The festival is dedicated to independent films.

The festival's mission, according to its organizers, is to celebrate artistic achievement in film, promote tomorrow’s filmmakers, create a space where filmmakers can learn from each other and industry professionals, and educate youth, adults, seniors and veterans about careers in film and the digital arts.

The 15th edition of the festival will be held on April 1-8, 2020, in California, the US.
